Talking Shop Monday FILM SCHOOL CHALLENGE ONE WEEK PROJECT

Brewery Tap

During the week from the 13th -19th March Strangelove festival takes over the The Brewery Tap in the Creative Quarter of Folkestone, which will be the festival hub – AKA Talking Shop: A place for discussions, talks, workshops and screenings, it will also be the research centre where all kinds of films and works can be screened, looked at and analysed.

To run parallel and in combination with Talking Shop we are hosting FILM SCHOOL which is a pop up open school project. Anyone can join, no experience necessary. The task is to create a new work or series of works and present them at the festival. Only works made during this week will be shown. Participants will need to register for the project which is free and be available at some point during that week, but not exclusively in the space. In order to register participants should contact info@strangelovefestival.com

Following a briefing on Monday 13th, the works will be devised, made edited and then presented at the end of the week (Friday and/or Saturday) in a screening either at the brewery tap or at a surprise pop up venue.

FILM SCHOOL is not a teaching project but a learning experience. A place to share skills, ideas and advice. There will be a number of film makers and artists who will be available to support, these include Sadie Ingoldby-Spate, Gary Ingoldby-Spate, Terry Smith, David Gryn. Lisa Salem. Astrid Goldsmith
