We’re delighted to announce the finalists of StrangeLove Open Call 2017 via instagram. Artists were shortlisted via instagram and an open submissions, as a way of empowering and bringing together international artists. In partnership with Fad Magazine and DegreeArt.com. The finalists will be shown at Brewery Tap 18th 2-6pm.
Strangelove is designed to be empowering to time based artist mediums, artists, students, audiences, the local community and beyond. Its aim is to add to the chemistry, voices and dynamic of what can happen in a locality and wider arts community. Strangelove is not wholly rooted in Folkestone, with future plans worldwide. It launched as a new cohesive and student galvanising project for Central Saint Martins in London in 2015 to bring the various departments, disciplines and threads of a large art school together via the power of moving image. The project in Folkestone is designed to create an output for current and future artists and bring this together with renowned international art world artists and curators.
(*Please note: 1 People’s Choice finalist, to still be selected, the video / film with the most views / shares will be also screened on 18th).
