Norwegian duo Marita Isobel Solberg & Trond Ansten are mixing performance art, installation and video, and in their alchemic prosess they explore treasures from the ocean. At Strangelove in Folkstone they will present a brand new work in the name of cod and love.
Marita Isobel Solberg is a visual artist from Olmmáivággi | Manndalen, based in Tromsø, the North of Norway. She is working mainly with performance art, installation, sound and music, making relational works often reinforced by a strong performative tension. She has been touring in Italy, Amerika, Canada, Russia, England, Japan, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Germany with her performances, exploring, exchanging, meeting and learning from great artists and people around the world, now you can experience her in the town of Folkstone with a new collaborative work.
Trond Ansten is a video- catcherman and brewing artist from Telemark. Now based in Tromsø, Norway. At Strangelove you can also experience his films “17 Toner Hvitt” in the International film program, previously also screened, amongst other places, at the CCA Gallery in Glasgow and the Anthology Film Archives in New York.
